Union Seminary D.Min. program accepting applications
New prerequisite standards for admission announced
RICHMOND, VA (September 21, 2020) – Union Presbyterian Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) program is accepting applications for the Charlotte campus for the 2021-2022 academic year.
In June 2020, the membership of the Association of Theological Schools adopted new Standards of Accreditation which became effective July 1. These new standards have changed prerequisites for admission to the D.Min. program and have opened it to graduates with a Master of Arts in Christian Education degree.
Applicants also must have significant ministry experience, not limited to a congregational setting. Ordination is not a requirement.
In the Doctor of Ministry program, students articulate advanced understanding of the contemporary church and expressions of culture, and relationships between the two. The degree enhances ministry competencies in areas such as proclamation, evangelism, education, interfaith relations, and community advocacy and engagement based on personal and vocational interests. Students gain a deepened capacity for theological reflection on the practices of ministry, especially with respect to social justice and witness.
Total tuition for this multi-year degree program is $10,000. Students are eligible for need-based aid.
