Union Seminary announces 2018 Fellowship Award recipients
RICHMOND, VA (March 9, 2018) —Union Presbyterian Seminary celebrates with students who have been recognized by the faculty with the following Fellowship Awards for further study and professional development. Through these awards, the faculty recognizes outstanding academic work by students who also show exceptional promise for effectiveness in ministry.
The Patrick H. and Mary P. Carmichael Fellowship
This award is given to a student completing the M.A.C.E. degree at Union Presbyterian Seminary who manifests superior academic achievement and possesses outstanding qualities of leadership.
Rosy Robson, Richmond Campus
The Martha O. and Fred R. Stair Fellowship
This award was established in 1981 by anonymous gifts to honor Martha O. and Fred R. Stair, fourth President of Union Theological Seminary in Virginia. The fellowship is awarded to a graduate elected by the faculty on the basis of promise in pastoral ministry.
Marina Ghaly, Richmond Campus
The Sallie Shepherd Perkins Fellowship
This award is given to a student who has demonstrated superior academic achievement and possesses outstanding qualities of Christian commitment to pursue further graduate study to enhance the student‘s ministry.
Kristin Wickersham, Richmond Campus
The Salem Church Fellowship
This award was established in 1921 through gifts from members of Salem Presbyterian Church, Salem, Virginia. Under the direction of the faculty, the recipient may pursue graduate work either at Union Presbyterian Seminary or any other approved institution at home or abroad.
