Dr. Robin McCall Named Seminary Librarian
Richmond, VA (January 31, 2023)—Welcome to Dr. Robin C. McCall, our new Seminary Librarian and Assistant Professor of Bibliography and Research!
Robin received her B.A. from the University of Virginia, her M.Div. from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and her Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. Robin also received her M.L.I.S. from the University of North Carolina—Greensboro.
Her most recent role was as Reference Librarian at Union Presbyterian Seminary’s William Smith Morton Library. Robin has also been an instructor at the University of Virginia and a professor at the College of William and Mary.
She is the first woman to be named Seminary Librarian since the inception of Union Presbyterian Seminary (as a library in 1806 and as a seminary in 1812).
“We are thankful for Robin and her leadership,” said President Brian Blount. “Her education and experience are an ideal combination for the essential job of Seminary Librarian.”
The William Smith Morton Library at Union Presbyterian Seminary offers more than 290,000 physical titles and more than 350,000 eBook titles. It has been recognized as one of the best theological libraries on the East coast.
Dr. McCall begins her new role on February 1.
