**Overview: **

Are you passionate about building community connections and fostering faith-based initiatives? Cook’s Church is seeking a creative and innovative individual to join our team as a Director of Community Engagement. This part-time, one-year paid Staff position offers exceptional flexibility and is an ideal role for followers of Jesus Christ who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact in our community and within our congregation.

**Duties: **

Liaise with our Church’s daycare parents and congregation to build strong, faith-filled relationships.
Engage with the wider community through creative short-form social media content in collaboration with our Pastor and the Digital/Communications team.
Assist existing Youth Leaders with programs. Some attendance with youth activities will be required. Participation in Children’s Sermon time during Sunday Morning Worship Service will be scheduled with Minister and Worship Committee.
Working with limited budgets, create events to foster connection between Cook’s Church and the surrounding communities. Sunday morning service attendance is encouraged (constitutes portion of the 18 – 20 hours per week commitment).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week.

Schedule:

Work Location: In person and validated work from home.
18 – 20 hours per week including Sunday service hours and Sessional Committee meetings when required.
Attendance at our Sunday morning worship services requirement: 2 – 3 Sundays per month (note: these hours apply towards the total requirement in bullet point #2 above). Leadership of Children’s Time during the service will be coordinated with the Worship Committee.

Cook’s Church: Cook’s Church is a 125 + year old Presbyterian church located in the northwest portion of Mecklenburg County very near Mt. Island Lake. Cook’s Church has served this area, that was previously an agrarian part of the county with a large family-oriented congregation for 125 + years. Cook’s has been an anchor, both historically and dynamically for this area as it transforms to a growth area of the city/county and presents a very diverse population. Cook’s congregation feels that a large part of our mission is to reach out to and serve all persons in this part of God’s vineyard.
