Workshop Description: This 4-part course is designed for church leaders of all kinds—from pastors to communications managers and even volunteers. It will teach them how to harness digital tools and data to support and improve the health of their congregations.
Touching on a range of important and practical topics, this course includes the four live lessons (along with their recordings), a take-home crisis communications plan development guide, and scheduled office hours to address specific questions and concerns.

Demystifying Email Marketing
Looking for ways to reach your congregation effectively and bring members closer together? All you need is an effective church email campaign. Discover why an effective campaign is about more than sharing important information and keeping in touch.
In this 75-minute session, we will review:
– the challenges of church email marketing and how to overcome them
– how to increase your open rates and secure your subscribers’ attention
– the importance of targeted marketing and the creation of a welcome series for new church members

Growing your church can start with a click. Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving your online presence and bringing people searching online to your front doors.
In this 75-minute session, we will review:
– how to research and incorporate keywords on your website
– on-page SEO vs. off-page SEO and how to go about both
– the 7 steps toward better optimization

– 5 best growth strategies
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24 | 1 P.M. ET
Crisis Communications
Churches need to be prepared for a crisis situation. An understanding of the nature of crisis communication as well as the right kind of preparation will help everyone work through a crisis situation in the most positive and encouraging manner possible.
In this 75-minute session, we will review:
– how to develop a crisis communications plan
– the 5 most important proactive crisis management steps
– lessons learned from the pandemic
Leader bio: Christen Kinard has spent a decade as a professional in communications and marketing. She has helped businesses and organizations as diverse as high-end retail stores and independent schools develop and implement efficient and impactful communications strategies. Digital Congregations sits at the intersection of her desire to do meaningful work, her belief in the importance of faith communities, and her talents and experience. Christen has a MA in Peace and Conflict Resolution from Norwich University and a BA in International Relations and French Literature from the University of South Carolina.
Online Format: This four-session workshop will use Zoom technology to meet online in order to allow for presentations by the leader as well as interaction among participants. Participants will need an electronic device equipped with a reliable Internet connection, built-in or external microphone, and a built-in or external webcam.
Cost: Both individual and group registration options are available; group registration consists of up to 3 individuals from the same church or organization.
$125 per individual, if register by January 5, 2022. (Note: Beginning, January 6, individual price increases by $10. Register early and save!).
$160 per group (up to 3 participants from the same church/organization), if register by January 5, 2022. (Note: Beginning January 6, group registration price increases by $25. Register early and save!).
CEUs: .4 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for this event. Note: CEU certificates can be generated upon request at the time of the event.
