TELLING OUR STORIES: BREAKING THE MOLD, TAKING RISKS, PAVING THE WAY

 2017 PRINCETON THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

WOMEN IN MINISTRY CONFERENCE

October 23, 4:00 p.m. till October 25 at noon, 2017

In the church and in entrepreneurial ministries, in the workplace, at home, and in centers of power all over, the experience of being a woman is both a joy and a struggle. We gather to share our stories of ministry, to cultivate new strategies for ministry, to support and celebrate women in leadership at all levels, both lay and ordained.

Keynote speaker Dr. Katie Geneva Cannon is the first African American woman ordained in what is now the Presbyterian Church (USA). Her work focuses in the areas of Christian ethics, womanist theology, and women in religion and society. She has lectured nationally on theological and ethical topics and is the author or editor of numerous articles and seven books, including Katie’s Canon: Womanism and the Soul of the Black Community and Black Womanist Ethics.

Connect with women in diverse ministries from around the world, raise your voice in solidarity with all women struggling to find a voice in society today, respond anew to God’s call to all people to minister in Christ’s name.

Katie Geneva Cannon is the Annie Scales Rogers Professor of Christian Ethics at Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, VA.
