Dr. Sam Adams will offer the 53rd Annual Memorial Bible Lectures held at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and presented in conjunction with Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church, Maxton, North Carolina.  His lecture series is entitled “Wealth and Poverty in the Biblical World and Today.”  Dr. Adam’s first lecture, “The Economic Vision in Scripture,” will be held Sunday, October 22, at 7 p.m.  The second lecture, “Translating the Economic Vision in Scripture for Today,” will be held the following evening, Monday, October 23, at 7 p.m.  Dr. Adams will also offer a Pastor’s Seminar on “Money, Exchatology, and the Bible: Exploring the Tensions and Misconceptions” on Monday, OCtober 23, from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Dr. Adams is Professor of Old Testament at Union Presbyterian Seminary.
