The Reverend Dwylene Butler is a native of Stratford, Connecticut. She earned the Bachelor of Social Work degree from Virginia Union University, the Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, and the Master of Theology degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary. She is currently a Doctor of Ministry student at UPSem’s Charlotte Campus.
Dwylene was licensed to preach at 17 in CT and was ordained at First African Baptist Church of Richmond, where she was the Minister of Youth & Christian Education. As the Executive Minister of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church, she oversees church business operations and coordinates worship. She is the chairperson of the Holistic Hurt, Wholistic Healing Conference which calls the Black Church to tackle taboo topics.
Dwylene believes that God cannot be put in a box, and she has made it her ministry mandate to help others see God in new and different ways.
