This is an online course that is open to all. This course includes five (5) online class meetings, on Tuesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST. In addition to the live class meetings, this course includes both reading and written assignments.

Online Course Title:  Polity & Administration II, Pathways Online Course (Elective)

Course Description: Using the Presbyterian Church (USA) Book of Order, this course is for current and future leaders in congregations (Commissioned Ruling Elders and Ruling Elders). It will concentrate on the practical application of the polity. The course will focus on Spirituality disciplines as a leader, Session meetings, committee meetings, Robert’s Rules of Order, and a look at personnel matters and financial management. Presbyterian Polity and Administration (Polity and Administration I) is a recommended prerequisite to this course.

Online Course Format:  Weekly class meetings via Zoom Technology, along with assignments posted on Blackboard, the seminary’s learning management system (login credentials provided)

Pathways to Learning and Leadership is an online program of nine courses offered over a two-year period to provide educational preparation toward leading a congregation as a Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE).  Courses are open to all, one does not need to be pursuing to become a CRE in order to participate. Courses aim to enhance knowledge and discipleship, and each course is five weeks long.
