Union Seminary announces new admissions directors

RICHMOND, VA (February 26, 2020) — Union Presbyterian Seminary has announced Erin Burt has accepted a call to serve as the next director of admissions for its Richmond campus. Marcy Wright has accepted a call to serve as interim director until Burt begins her duties June 1, 2020.

Previously, Burt served as a chaplain at VCUHealth and a student affairs professional at Georgia State University. She is a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. In her spare time, she loves hiking and kayaking and refers to nature as a sanctuary. Both her sense of call to ministry and her love for the outdoors developed while working at Montreat Conference Center as a Clubs camp counselor and intern. Burt is a Master of Divinity student at Union (UPSem). She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University and a Master of Science in Patient Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Marcy Wright is a native of Hampton, Virginia, and has worked in non-profit management for 28 years. She is a dual degree student at Union(UPSem) pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian education and a Master of Divinity. Before coming to UPSem, she earned her Bachelor of Science in sociology from Virginia Tech. Wright was previously executive director at Transitions Family Violence Services located in Hampton, Virginia.

Burt and Wright will graduate in May 2020.
