Accreditation

Union Presbyterian Seminary is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of The Association of Theological Schools and is approved to offer the following degrees: Master of Arts in Christian Education,  Master of Arts in Public Theology, Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Ministry. Union Presbyterian Seminary is approved to offer the Master of Arts in Christian Education, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry at its Charlotte, NC, location. Union Presbyterian Seminary is also approved for distance education.

Union Presbyterian Seminary is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award master’s and doctoral degrees. Union Presbyterian Seminary’s accreditation was reaffirmed by the SACS Commission on Colleges in December 2022 for a period of ten years, until 2032.

Union Presbyterian Seminary’s accreditation was reaffirmed by the ATS Commission on Accrediting in June 2022 for a period of ten years, until July 31, 2032, with the next comprehensive evaluation visit in spring 2032.  The Commission also approved the five degree programs: Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Christian Education, Master of Arts in Public Theology, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Ministry.  The Seminary is also approved for comprehensive distance education and an additional location in Charlotte, NC.
